To be honest though it's not difficult to drive is it? and the go-karting would have given him good spacial awareness etc.

My lad spent a day driving at the Malory Park circuit for his 16th Birthday and took to it very well, I remember thinking he would not be able to change gear and such but no, I couldn't have been more wrong.

I remember in my last year of school (we were all about 15/16) at the end of term school disco my mate Roger (he was the only lad in school named Roger, can't imagine why ) turned up driving his Dad's E-reg BMW 523i, this was when the car was about 6 months old they had emigrated to the UK from South Africa or somewhere and Roger said he used to drive 'a lot'

He was the school legend after that, well, for about 4 days until school finished
