Well i've been on to the AA and said i wanted to cancel, usual blurb "why is that sir etc etc",if i was not a member and just joined on line i can get the same cover for £80,asked why as a "valued" member and have not called them out in 3 years i have to pay 35-40% more than Joe public can on the net,"i'll see what i can do" says the girl and low and behold "we can do it for £80" she says,so i say send me out a revised quote and i'll think about it.Why oh why do we have to haggle with these companies and why can't they send out the best quote first time. :x

AA was awesome last year. My usual renewal came in at £120. Greenflag was £80 or so, so I ignored the AA quote.

About 2 weeks before the AA was due to run out I had a letter saying they could do it for £60. So I phoned them and they told me that if I was to take their £60 offer then there would be a £60 administration charge :|

After a little rant I got it for £60

Ask your insurer.
if theyve got any deals on with breakdown cover,

some insurance brokers can do some pretty good deals on b/c

edit ignore the above,
looks like you have already gone that route.

Green flag,£87 a year through the caravan club.Thats for mine & my wifes car, roadside assistance, recovery & double journey cover, with or with out the caravan. If i/she breaks down anywhere in the uk,& the car cant be fixed at the roadside, they will take us/car/caravan to our destination, then recover us home after. So if we broke down going on holiday with the caravan, they will take us to the caravan site, then after the holiday, take us home again.
We didnt have any cover for 3 weeks when it ran out,and the day i renewed it was the day the coil spring broke on my 406.

My other half has the mayday greenflag policy to cover the caravan etc,she has personal cover so when i'm towing and she's in the car we're covered by her mayday policy,we can't do a joint policy as we live at different addresses.

The only downside with green flag is they use local agents for recovery. The few times i`ve needed it i have waited over 2 hours to be recovered,& once when i had a Xantia they sent out a spectical(?)lift when i told them the car had to go on the back of a lorry due to the suspension. But we have it because of the caravan.

We also only use it for the caravan as they seem to be the best for that.

Use quidco and you can get cash back. Once got cover for £7 a year! Cost me £27 for the package but £20 back in my pocket...

What does that include though?

I need homestart and the ability to be towed home from anywhere.

I always pay a bit more for 'relay' so you get brought back to your home town/house if you breakdown (imagine being towed to some Garage you don't know in another city).

I've been with the AA for an unbelievable 15 years  this year I have been promoted to 'Gold' membership which has got me a Card for each of my Kids :o if they're out with another family somewhere and breakdown they will get the same cover as me 8)
