Mines sounding like a bag of hammers again, think its the bottom pulley again (I replaced it with a 2nd hand 1).
Also wanna know why it fooks up at 100mph, Air Bag light on etc etc.

My local garage charged me 25 notes, only a small machine with no printer but it listed faults as a description as well as code, and then went on to seperate menus for each fault to show readings / cause etc.
No idea about main dealers price but i wouldnt bother, doubt they would even know what codes meant let alone pinpoint problem.

The biggest problem, from my experience, is that a dealer won't allways 'dig deep' to rectify a given problem. They would tend to just replace whichever part came up as defective until the faults are cleared.
When my radiator fan broke it was drawing too much current on it's circuit and threw up a fault, the diagnostics at my independant garage (uses the most upto date machine on rental contract) said that it was the glow plugs, and some other bits.
It was only upon close inspection of the fuse holders that he found that the fan fuse had been running hot because it was slightly tarnished. This then pinpointed the exact cause by measuring the current on that circuit and comparing it to what it should be.
Now I am not so sure a Peugeot garage would have done all that?
Geordie, if your air bag light is on (flashing) just wiggle about with all the connectors under your seat, it worked for me.
TBH, if you don't know (or trust) a good independant garage with new equipment then just get Peugeot to diagnose it, at least you will then be able to decide what to do with it.

Yes, I tried to explain the Physics of water vapourisation over a given surface area but was told to 'shut my face'.neildavies wrote:Welton, that signature is brilliant!! My house to a tee
Also, is it just me or do Women truely believe that when they go downstairs to smash the kitchen to pieces for a cup of tea they become inaudible to the other inhabitants upstairs?
(sorry to go off topic, but a valid point. I thought.)

I sourced a diagnostic interace thingy off ebay which now plugs into a PC in my garage (the PC only cost £25 as well) Havent had any faults to diagnose yet but seems to work a treat. It plugs into the USB port and runs with diagnostic software also sourced from ebay. The expense of this covers the cost of one visit to the dealer for a test is my thinking.
