To be honest...I've never seen snow!!!

The ABS is a real pain down here. It rains so seldom in Sydney these days (we are in drought) that when it does, the rain mixes with all the oil, grease and grime on the road surface making it extremely slippery to drive on. Getting heaps of people bouncing off stuff...not fun in peakhour as the traffic goes to hell! This combined with the fact that 75% of Sydney doesnt know how to drive in the rain...isnt a very good combination. Get plenty of lock up in the 406!

I find the ABS kicks in a bit too early though - My old Holden Commodore used to be alot better...kicked in alot later!

Yeah bent the eye slightly towing a 2 tonne + vehicle up a back lane (thats probably about as steep as Dickies Hill - albeit a lot shorter  ) then round a 90 degree bend at the top with the full weight of the LR still on the hill. Bent the eye - not a mark on the bumper 8) .

See, none of you are helping convince me. I'm never going to tow or be towed if I can help it again.

Anyway, was up at 8 and then waited till 9 (not to wake neighbours with a screaming engine) and got the car back to the house......so it's all epidemic now.

I live in a cottage in the boonies, and with 7" (I measured it, sad really) of snow on the ground I didn't bother trying to drive, so the Mi and the HDi stayed parked up. I walked to the shop at t'other end of the village to get some bread, cigars and a bottle of scotch, and I was walking faster than most of the cars, so i don't know why they bothered.

I bus lost control and took out a neighbours wall - so much for following advice for essential journeys only, eh?

Unlike me, the G/F didn't have a day off, but work sent a landrover out to pick her up (she's a bobby too), leaving me at home to make a snow chick with big hooters, and drink myself silly in the afternoon. Luverly!
