I've recently seen on here and another forum Welly posted a while ago people mention using stardrops to clean cars, I've grabbed a bottle of it and last week used it neat to do a test patch on my caravan and it came up nice but a patch is as far as i got.
Have any of you tried it? and can you actually wash a car with the stuff?

Yes it's referred to as an All Purpose Cleaner (APC) I've got a bottle of Daisy APC which I dilute and clean things with, it's good for the plastic kick-plates at the bottom of the door openings, or door rubbers, the crap around the hinges etc. in fact I did around my fuel-flappage area on Sunday as it was looking a bit shabby there.
I think it's mainly for plastics I wouldn't wipe-down paintwork with it'd probably strip any wax/sealants there.
Cars in my care:
2021 Kia Spottage 1.6 Pez Turbo Dual Clutch Gearbox Trickery
2013 Renner Twingo - donkey work
I just diluted some down into a spray bottle and tried it on a spot of the drivers door card arm rest (the wife has a condition where she needs to always wear suncream) it was filthy but now it's filthy with a nice clean spot in the middle for her to see when i hand her the bottle later.

I found a whole money saving expert forum dedicated to this stuff here's what I've read about using it on cars so far.
I use Stardrops on my car. Its the only thing that brings the chrome up sparkling (and that's including the stuff in the kit I was conned into when I bought the car!!).
Plus, in the summer it gets "bug splatter" off too! Sometimes it does need to be used neat on a cloth for this, particularly on the number plates.

I've used it on the whole car for the best part of a year with no ill effects. I've got metallic paint too and its done no harm at all.

I washed the car with it last week, polished with microfibre car and it gleamed.

It's just an all purpose cleaner. I use it on interior plastics and other odds and ends.
Won't do any harm on paintwork but it will strip off any waxes and sealents if you have any in the first place.

Different dilution rates for those different stains marks etc.
I always keep a diluted spray bottle of All purpose cleaner in the car - a dilution rate of 2:8 ( two parts APC - 8 parts water ) for things like bug splats on paintwork and windows. - Bug splats simply squirt on, leave for a min then wipe with a cloth, no more rubbing/scrubbing etc.
a heavier ratio for things like mud / foot marks on the door sills and marks on lower door cards etc
I'd always use it diluted but it has a million uses.
very much doubt it'd strip wax in diluted form, but then again it depends on what wax you use

Are you sure that's ok?, I'd probably recommend a dilution rate of 1:4 or at least 3:12
The dilution i used yesterday on the filthy door cards was about 15ml to a 750ml bottle that's something like 1:50 and it worked like a bastard... Very pleased with what a squirt and a wipe can achieve.

I've been using star drops for years.
Its not bad stuff, iwouidnt use it much on paintwork .. unless its totally mingling
Its a good degreaser.
For carpets and seats I just use mix it up in a bucket until its foamy.and just use the foam
To clean seats ..it drys quicker and more even that way,
Just for reference, there is two types of star drops only use the orange colored one ..the other one contains Ammonia
It smells like cat piss and shouidnt be used anywhere near cars..
