Sounds like a fair result to me. That would've pissed me off too.

I seem to have missed most of this thread somehow  On the installation diagram Sedre just says "injector for no. 1 cylinder" etc. so no clues to how the ecu sees them, however on the wiring digram it shows them 1-3-4-2, starting at the gearbox end like your bit of code. I think all PSA engines have no.1 cylinder at the gearbox end, I bet that gives people hours of fun (what a load of no.2s :frown: )

Anyway, glad it's all sorted now and the car is back in your good books :cheesy:

It is. I might even give it a wash this weekend

The thing I marvel at is the first fuel injector to fail was on the No. 3 cylinder. When the garage replaced it, they replaced the correct injector first time, no fuss. Pure luck that they started counting from the correct end of the engine block in that case, or they'd have replaced the No. 4 injector instead, and I'd have had the same situation.

So basically, I've had 3 out of 4 injectors replaced. Can't be a bad thing, right?

Washed (took it into a petrol station and hosed off all the bird sh*t from the roof and rear quarterpanel, and most of the insect carnage from the front bumper and bonnet), and looks a million times better for it.

Job jobbed. Took more than an hour of fettling and blue-mouthedness. But it's done, and the clocks work brilliantly, and they really do give the dash a bit of a lift! Anyone who still has black clocks should go see if they can find a set. Petrol ones appear to be rare as hen's teeth, but in searching for my set, I saw plenty of diesel sets on eBay (usually one (or more) every week). It's a faff to swap 'em, but the only tools you need are a T20 torx bit, a flathead screwdriver (for prizing stuff), and a bit of time & patience. If your car has higher mileage than the car the clocks came off, it ought to be a straight swap, but if you have lower miles, you will want to split your new and old clocks and just swap over the red needles and the white backing for the dials.

The only oddity I noticed was the trip mileage is built into the clocks, so from my old clocks, I'd done 7 miles since it was last reset, and the new clocks reckon it's been nearly 125 miles since it was last reset. The mileage stayed the same though, which is what counts.

Once I get the interior all cleaned up, I'll take some better photos.

They do look rather smart but alas, mine only has km/h and I'm not sure if a mph speedo has the same travel or would be legal or anything :frown:

The KM/H scale is present on UK clocks, but you're right enough; you'd need to check Croatian law to see whether it'd be legal to have MPH as your primary scale. Unless you can find a 2003/2004 model 406 with white clocks being broken up in-country?
