My cousins 307 has gave more trouble, it had white smoke coming from the exhaust, and its idling at around 1100rpm, but the throttle no longer responds at all, although when driving it can judder violently i.e. surge forward with all the power then back to none.
The pp2000 was plugged in but doesn't show up a single fault code, nothing is showing up on the dash.
Any ideas of what might be wrong.

Can't help a lot, Frank, but FWIW:
White smoke usually means unburnt fuel, typically from cylinder(s) where no ignition is taking place.
Check the TPS values with PP2000, engine off, very slowly & carefully, to prove you get a sensible % at all throttle positions.
Maybe try with MAF disconnected?
Check values for fuel pressure requested and actual, boost pressure requested and actual, investigate any discrepancies.

Always thought....
Blue smoke = oil burning..... engine wear.
Black/Dirty grey smoke = unburnt fuel
White smoke = Condensation build-up in engine being burnt off on cold starts in the morning. Or..
Coolant being burnt off... head gasket failure. = Rough running, and sundry other symptoms.

Can definitely get white smoke from unburnt diesel, had it on my XUD when cranking and the glow plugs were dying.

This one definatley seems to be, i kept saying to go for the 2.0 but my cousin liked the look of the cheaper tax and insurance on the 1.6.Captain Jack wrote:Is the 307 the most unreliable car in the world today?
The car is still using oil, and spitting it out every where it can find, its also loosing coolant so most likely the head gasket is fubard, and the oil is fecking up the readings on the various sensors that make the thing run right.
