They didn't reply to my follow up email asking why exactly they couldn't deal with this particular screen :(
They don't really seem interested in helping at all, i did mention that there would be a number of people interested on here and the coupe club if the screen could be fixed.

Is there any aftermarket radio that can use the information that goes to the screen about the open doors, the trip computer airbag faults etc?

Slightly off topic... but..,

The sat nav display in my car had been replaced by one of the 'B' displays.

The previous owner had left the satnav display in the boot, and when
I swapped it over some months ago, the GPS function didn't seem to work,
and there were lines on the screen.., so I swapped back in the 'B' screen.

Anyway, from this thread, I wondered if the sat nav display might be worth something.
Refitted it just to confirm how bad it was. Maybe I'd expected perfection before, but the
lines now seemed much less intrusive. So I left the display in..., and later, as I drove
along.., I pressed the button on the end of the column stalk..., and realised the GPS was working.

Comes up sometimes with 'CD unreadable..".

So what I've done is....

1. Ordered some CD lens cleaner as, from checking around, that seems to be the most usual
reason for Cd unreadable, or tracking problems..

2. Went into the screen configuration settings, and changed the display from 'normal video' to 'reverse video'.
i.e. the lettering displays as bright, rather than 'black'.
The result is that the faulty lines on the screen are almost invisible.
And the display matches the method used on the temp/aircon screen underneath.

Result, I think.

PS. The sat nav guidance voice , coming through the sound system.., is far better than just about any of the
various satnavs I've used. And loads better than that screechy robot voice that comes with the Google Navigation
on Android phones.
