Has anyone put and engine in from below rather than dropping it in from above?

you wouid have to remove subframe,

I struggled to get one out from below but did it with the help of a grinder on a scrap car. Much easier to remove from above, at an angle.

Taking it out from below is a bit of a hassle, especially if the subframe bolts are rusted, i had to cut 2 off, then there are the steering parts, hoses etc that have to come out of the way, its probably easier to lift it up.
The only reason i removed the engine from below was because looking at any video of cars being assembled the engine and subframe come in from below.
