I wouldn't recommend teng spanners though I bought a 7/16 to fill a gap in my kit and sprung it on a brass fitting that any decent spanner would have eaten. I've since replaced it with a facom jobbie and .
I still find plenty on places where access is to tight even for 1/4 drive.

You mean the ones you can turn the handle and it drives the ratchet?
Bloomin excellent bit of kit I have a 3/8 drive stanley one I bought in the states for about $15 6 years ago its built like the provebial brick outhouse.
Here's a job that ratchet spanners were made for.
It's the only way to get the nut off without having to take off the magneto ( black thing above the spanner) even with a fine ratchet it's only getting two clicks.
If anyone is on the lookout for a halford trade card then I'd suggest saving your invoices from your home servicing.
They will allow you a trade card if you prove you do a lot of home mechanics constantly and can prove it with receipts. I have a trade card for work, mainly on quads, ideal when I'm out in the field working on Quads or even at a race meeting and needing something urgently! I just said to the manager who I work for, what we do - servicing quads and our own vehciles using tools all the time and they where happy to oblige!
My kit is a general build up from lots of different places. Sockets and spanners are halford professional 150 piece, I have a set of bergren impact sockets and a 24v Sealey impact gun - ideal for changing sprockets at meetings - then lots of other things I pick up as and when I come accross them, Aldi's do some good tools and selection packs, had nut and bolts sets, nyloc nuts, split pins, tools, magnetic trays, picks and a lot more besides. Other parts I go to places near me like Trago Mills and get little bits from there.
Getting stuff as you go along helps but I have found with quad racing, having loads of tools generally will save either my bacon or someone elses at a meeting! Even the nut and bolt sets have helped people out!
