The great "I've removed my Tax Disc" spotting game

My lad passed his test recently and now owns a Mk.1 (02-plate) Ford Focus Zetec 1.6 petrol. Nice car, in fairly good shape, 6 months' MOT left on it. Unfortunately came with tax til the end of September.

Bought the tax online on the 23rd of September, and haven't received a tax disc (nor do I expect to now, but I had expected to receive one before the end of September, even if I would have had to cut it out myself with scissors...)

Peeled his expired tax disc off his windscreen last night.

My Coupe is taxed til February, so I will be removing its disc then.

In other news did you hear about the 'spate' of numberplate thefts daaarn saaarf ?? theory being that now you don't need a Tax Disc you can whip the plates off a similar-model car somewhere and roll around completely 'legal' as far as the ANPR can tell.

My tax disc was removed from the 1st September when I bought it lol, in place for it is a row of FCS decals for all the years I have been lol

It has been two weeks since cars no longer needed to carry a tax disc, yet on roads up and down the country, nearly all still have them sitting in the corner of the windscreen.

I could have told them that last week, I is teh news.

....only a matter of time before someone's failure to avoid a collision is attributed to the blind spot caused by a tax disc / holder.
