If you want a decent 4x4 buy an older (pre 2001) pajero/surf/landcruiser they can be had for similar monies and as long as you choose the right engine (2.8d for the pajero 3.0d for the surf) they are bloomin bomb proof

Looking for a bit of luxury as well... the '6 is a really nice place to sit...

My pajero and surf were both better spec'd than my 06 was and the 06 wasn't poverty spec

I too owned a 1990 MK1 Pajero Exceed, very high spec for it's age, and although very thirsty (25mpg) I absolutely
loved driving it, slow too being the 2.5 but somehow that just didn't matter.
