My neighbour has recently had a Baxi Solo replaced with a new Baxi, so like for like,
keeping her hot water tank, and paid about £1500 as a special favour.

So YES you did get a good deal...

It's OK, it's just your Dad's turn for the f*ck-Up Fairy.

Seriously though, I hope you're OK and the damage isn't too bad!

Nothing to drop myself in the sh*t about.
Was 7am, driving down the M4. Was about -3°c so roads were a bit slippery.
Outside lane doing about 60-65mph, nothing excessive.

There was a high, LWB Transit in front of me so I couldn't see much in front of the van.
I saw cars ahead braking so I started to back off and brake.
Next thing I know the van came to a dead stop on the arse of a Ford Focus.
I applied the anchors and skidded into the back of the van, ABS working overtime.

I suspect there was some ice on the motorway as the van driver said his brakes did very little and he skidded into the Focus.

Damage doesn't look too bad but I hit the rear step/tow bar at 30mph so I think there's been a fair bit of damage done behind the bumper.

I actually had a fair bit of room. On a dry day I would have stopped with plenty of room to spare.
Just couldn't find any grip today. :(

Let me blank the numberplate and I'll get a picture up.

One thing I know about Beemers is the brakes are fantastic so you couldn't have done any more than you did, it was an accident.

In the Mondy you would've hit the Van harder still....

Sh*t happens.
Just means I'll get a fresh painted front end when I buy the car April next year. :supafrisk:

Oh, did I mention that?

I can have the car which will be an F30 320d Sport at 4 years old with about 100k on the clock for little under £7k. BARGAIN!

Hold on, I think the bump has affected your abilities; I think you just said you were buying a BMW

Anyhoo how would you score a 4 year old BM for under 7 bags? I would've said at least 12 or 13K

That's exactly what I said to my Dad when I seen the paperwork a few weeks ago!
£6,997 they want as a final purchase fee.

Can't really turn that down! I can keep it for 2-3 years without loosing much, if any money on it!

It is but a scratch!

And a bumper, two kidney grills, two fog lights, a numberplate and possibly many things located behind the bumper. But we can gloss over that! Gloss over it with the 5 litres of gloss I tipped all over my f*cking kitchen floor!

Does your Dad have it on personal finance with an option to buy?

Some finance schemes with 'balloon'? payments are kinda tied up with a sort of virtual 'deposit'. By purchasing the car you might send your Dad back to square one limiting his next choice? just a thought just seems too cheap to me, like you've already overpaid and the finance company hold a fund of yours...
