Dashcam Vids

Post by DaiRees »

Just for a laugh I thought I'd post some of my own dashcam vids, feel free to join in!

My first one is pretty mild, it's some geezer pushing his luck a little on a roundabout, he was probably expecting to get his boot down and be well clear by the time I got there but his path was blocked by a slow moving car.

Due to the wide angle of the camera lens it doesn't look all that close but, while there was no danger of hitting it, it was a bit closer than it looks. Just as I'm passing behind the Merc, the darling big brother Volvo decided I was going to hit it (and no doubt die horribly  ), so the "city safety" collision avoidance system kicked in and it slammed on the anchors, only for a split second but you can hear the ABS just as I toot the horn. The camera doesn't really show how neck snapping it is when that happens!

Anyway, enjoy :)

Not the first time I've seen something similar happen there  ... Do they record all the time? I had a corker earlier I was coming up from Tirphil and this twat decides to swerve over at me he wasn't trying to avoid anything he either knew me or was distracted in his sleep and woke up all confused.... Would have loved to get the tit on camera.

Yeah, always on mate. I've actually had a couple of very minor incidents today. I might have a look at the footage later if I can be bothered. I'm finding that the wide angle lens and the lack of movement and sound often makes stuff look much less severe on the footage than it did in person.

He was just being a bit naughty, I wasn't going too fast though (been round that roundabout much faster  ). And you're right, it is more about playing with the camera, I'm dead impressed with it for less than £50 :cheesy: . So that was just a crappy one to start a thread mate, I'm sure there there'll be more. In fact have a look at this...

Yes, before you say it, I know life's too short and I should have let him go but this twat came from a long way back past all the queuing traffic, then forced out without so much as a flash of the indicator. At the end of the day though he wasn't going to give up and I didn't want to deal with a bump. He was so determined that he was actually hitting the cones on the left, knob head!

If I had a pound (or even a weasel) for every time someone did something like that to me here... You're dead right though, just let them get on with it or you'll make yourself ill. At least in GB there's little chance they'll stop the car and get out carrying a gun...

It's one for Google anyway - KC03 JBU - driven by a moron.

Only saying like but I think I'd have given him a bit of room earlier there. Arse or not it was obvious what was coming and it's not worth getting stressed about it. All you can you is wish the other party meets an untimely death around the next corner :P (that wasn't very nice of me, see what your vids are doing to us already?) :)

[volvo forum mode]it's drivers like you that give us a bad name, it's clear that you colluded with the Peugeot driver and "staged" the video for notoriety in a feable attempt to sneak into OUR lounge [/volvo forum mode off]

I'm actually a really passive driver these days but now and again you get that one idiot who pushes the right buttons, that's why dashcam videos of any note will be pretty few and far between from me, the opportunity to get involved in incidents presents itself many times daily and 99% of them slide by unnoticed.

Automotive bully boys really do get my goat though, people who know that they're in the wrong and have decided that they're going to do it any way, regardless of whoever's in their way. Wankers of the highest order! When that kind of behaviour is aimed directly at me I take it as an insult and a personal threat and can't help fighting back a bit. The big difference is that, by the time he'd pulled off the road at the next junction we were already chucking, it's not that long ago I'd have been chasing that prick through the housing estate brandishing a tyre lever!
