Yes it was a bit of a piss take rather than a tribute. Basically saying that Peugeot didn't have a clue what to make in the early days and now all the cars are driven my senile old folk?

I was hoping for more tbh.

I imagine the owners who lent their cars for filming were a bit put out. Take the guy who lent the 306 rallye which appeared for a split second as a close up of the decal and exhaust.

I'd like to remind everyone that in the 10th episode of series 4, Richard Hammond tested a 407 as a pace car and found that it handled brilliantly, but could do with a bit more power. He also threw in the obligatory jabs at French reliability etc.

And in the studio segment, they actually praised its looks! (Watch the episode if you don't believe me)

Can't be as bad as Tim on 406CC, they borrowed his car but the 406 didn't even make the cut.

Although it was worse for the 306 owners, i heard one car wasn't delivered back for 4 days and people couldn't tell the owner where it was, another one was being delivered back and the truck driver hit a low bridge, taking the roof off the truck and putting debris on the car which then had to be repaired..........

Believe it or not, on the Volvo forum there has been a lot of Volvo's borrowed from owners by TV companies, Film Makers and even a Pop Video. Allegedly these people were less than careful with these 'props' and I think some owners decided never to volunteer again :?

I think if i had a cherished car i'd be rather particular about who borrowed it, Top Gear would not be on the list!

Some years ago, I was in possession of a very good condition Vauxhall Victor estate, and a very tatty-looking one. I lent/rented them to a company to make a 'resurrection' pop video, where the tatty one went under a bridge, and the tidy one emerged from the other side. After they had finished with them, they were both sent for a thorough clean and valet, and as there was some scuffs on the older one, they had it resprayed. I sold it for more than I paid for the 'good' one. They are not all bad.

Although it was difficult to fully laugh at my 407 being crashed into ditches, I agree with them. Current Peugeot models are pretty awful. It's all about 0% finance rather than a car, which makes them pretty terrible.

A bit like Burger King... Cheap, crap food but everyone buys it and makes the company money.
