Hi all.My new 407 Hdi 170 SW passed its mot fine.No issues, apart from a slight tear in 1 cv joint boot. But its not leaking grease,so all ok(for now).Got to the bottom of the lack of 170 bhp after a few miles of driving.Replaced both turbo solenoids, now running well, and feels like it has 170 bhp/280lbft........90% of the time.Every now and then,it feels a tad lacking, untill you hit 3k rpm, then it takes off.No new codes at the moment. But when i first read them,i had a air flow meter code, but its never come back since i cleared it.Unlike the 406 hdi,if i disconnect the maf,the car wont run.But it feels a bit like my 406 when the maf played up.Going to try blanking the egr pipe,as when i removed it,it was 3/4`s blocked with oily crap. The car felt better the morning after i cleared the pipe out.Getting info on the 2.2 hdi 170 is hard,as i cant find a workshop manual for it.I cant even find the bloody glow plugs!!

Still,it towed our caravan last week like it wasnt on the car.6th gear from around 55 mph, then sat at 65 mph on the cruise up hill n down dale on the moterway.Best tow car i`ve had.
Still need to get a rear parcel shelf, sort out heater flap on the drivers side, sort out a/c,front bumper trim.Getting the cambelt, tensioners, and water pump done next week at my works workshop.
My 2003/53 406 Hdi 110 SE estate sold for £350 on ebay. The nut case drove it back home around 100 miles lol.He said he got it back ok,and reckons the turbo has gone.I`m not so sure.Running lumpy,a lack of compression on start up,and burning 1 liter of oil per 10 miles.Still, its gone to a good home.He has had a Xantia TD,series 1 406,series 2 406,a 407 hdi 1.6,and his current 2002 406 hdi 90.So he`s into french cars too.Better than it going to a scrap yard.
