bloody slow job. all fuse box out in engine, battery and tray and everything in wheel arch out.
still a little knocky, too much vibration

could it be the overun pulley on the alternator? i know the 110hp 406 has a clutched pulley so the c5 may have one aswell

after changing all the mounts as they are shot it still vibrates too much, then i have a eureka moment. found the culprit hididng in plain sight, a KNACKERED crankshaft pully with bits of its rubber internals spewing out. that must have vibrated so much that it wore out the mounts.

will post in another thread about the harmonic balancer ... thanks so far all..
