I tried growing tomatoes once. It didn't end well.

True though that the supermarket ones we get are horrid, they have no taste, I guess they're grown in some sort of factory with 24hr 'daylight'.

That's the only reason I grow them Welly, most of our supermarket ones are tasteless too, they are about the only things I do grow. I have a green house but it's got completely overgrown by trees and I haven't got the energy to keep cutting them back any more so I tried them in the conservatory and they go a bomb, we have them for about 6 months of the year. Have tried different varieties for the best taste and grow mostly the small yellow or red ones - very sweet.

I was informed by a senior experienced gardener that my Tomatoes had suffered "inconsistent watering" as the skins were splitting. These were only cherry tomatoes and in the end I felt like I had to babysit the bloody things

Chilli's grew well with little input as did the Corriander which was very tasty.

I used to have that problem in the greenhouse but they are fine grown indoors. I have three large pots standing in a tray and I just put a can full of water in it every day, if its very hot two cans. The cherry tomatoes are the sweetest I have found. I sometimes take a sandwich into the conservatory at lunch time and eat it with fresh toms straight off the vine - lovely.

That's what happens if they go a long time with little or no water and then there's a whole lot - the plant takes in too much water and the toms split. That's what happened the last time I tried growing cherry tomatoes, every single last one split I'll not be bothering with those again. Plus they're fiddly, although I hear a good way of slicing them is to put them on a plate, put another plate on top upside-down and then slice between the two plates (I may have heard that here?)

Strange, I've not had that trouble, certainly with the indoors ones. I put about a gallon of water in the tray and they help themselves, if its very hot and they use it all I just put some more in. I feed them with Tomorite every second or third watering but then I pour it into the top of the pots - nothing to do with the plants but the cats drink the water out of the tray.

Hello chaps, guess what. over 1,000km since I last changed the battery and...

I dropped t'wife off at t'airport this avo. Coming out the carpark:

BONG! Check engine system.

BONG! Check VSC system.

BONG! Check 4x4 system.

Same deal, coming out of the airport after collecting my nephew last night. Is there that much RFI coming out of there? It's not the only time I've been to the airport since so I'm not sure if this constitutes a weird coincidence or maybe the yoyo just hates the car park there.

At the airport there will be alot of highish powered transmissions in the 117-137mhz and 1030,1090mhz range (potentially up to 1000W) it's very unlikely that an aircraft weather radar will be active on the ground except for maintenance activities and there should be an exclusion zone during such activities.

Perhaps they're intermittent faults, and after a certain period (1000km maybe) of repeated intermittent flags the car throws the eml?

My nephew actually came with an (blewtoof) OBD reader, it says bank 1, sensor 2 O2 sensor - oh bloody hell, here we go again He cleared it and the car tested it while we were driving just now and it came up ok, so it is indeed looking intermittent. I guess I should first try reseating the connector but of course it's under the car somewhere

Those Bluetooth obd2 jobbies are very handy. I picked mine up for aboot 8 quid on amazon and utilise the free torque lite app on my phone. It's a damn site easier to setup and use than pp2k. Probably no good for dealing with any of the body systems but it works very well for engine stuff.

Almost 45 years to the day since I got my car licence, I thought I'd try This

Unlike first time, it took me 2 attempts. (I should have done it when I still knew everything).

Had thought about it myself but I am probably to old to get insured now. Passed my test in 1956 when the Suez crisis was on, due to the petrol rationing they suspended driving tests and provisional license holders were allowed to drive unaccompanied - a provision I took full advantage of.

I remember doing my bus driver training in 1973 for Glasgow Corporation Transport.
The highlight of the day was dropping in around 11 in the morning at whichever bus depot was nearest.
Bacon Roll and mug of tea, then off down the road again.

The instructor was always chiding me for over-speeding. Then one day another instructor took his place.
As I started the engine, a voice behind me...., "If I see you over the speed limit, you can pick your cards
up in the afternoon..".

As I had rent to pay, I decided to comply.

After I passed my test, there was a week or so learning the routes, but without passengers.
The first morning, I started up, drove off, with the instructor behind me in the cabin.
After a few hundred yards, the voice again.... "What are you hanging around for...?..
The implication being, you've passed the test, now the real driving starts.
