I bet the others were killed off when the HP fuel pump crapped out

There's one for sale here:
https://www.marktplaats.nl/a/auto-s/peu ... e=lr&pos=1 .
What is so special about the HPI engine compared to the "normal" 2.0 16V ? 5 more HPs?
Current "fleet":
2003 406 Estate 2.0HDi 110 - 7 seater -
just hit 710.000 kms
2001 Citroen Saxo 1.6i 8v 100
Previously owned:
2000 406 Sedan 2.0 HDi 90
2000 406 Coupé 2.0i 16v 138 - Riviera Blue
PP2000 user, can help with faults / diagnostics in the Netherlands.

It was a nice piece of design and ahead of its time in some respects, but rather poorly implemented.
It has no real selling point other than being rare and therefore a challenge to fix!
2002 V6 SE Coupé (210bhp) - (Aegean Blue)
2002 D9 2.2 HDi Exec Estate - Samarkand Blue
PM me for PP2000 diagnostics around Surrey

My understanding was that it had direct pez injection (running at high PSi) so was able to be more fuel efficient, although members on here never really expressed any positives in high MPG's.
The fuel pump itself was very expensive (circa £1,000.00) and was probably the downfall of most of these engines.

IIRC, there were only about 2 dozen of them sold in the UK to begin with.

Yes, proud to have kept it in great condition and not afraid of the challenge to keep it running!
Proves that if you maintain something properly it will stay in good condition.
The handbrake still works perfectly, only required minimal adjustment at service time.
