I know on many cars it's the window rubber seals around the glass that kinda grab the glass and slow it down. Could try some silicone rubber lubricant?

Are both sides the same? Are they getting the full voltage (or something close anyway?) I would've thought Waxoyl could only help them work, unless the whole mechanism is choked with the stuff...
