i put £64 diesel in mine yesterday and that was 94.9p a litre ( 1p cheaper than unleaded  ) and the red light had been on for the past 45 miles so that took it up to 560 miles since i last brimmed it . i find the trick is to fill it right up is shake the car by grabbing the roof rails and when you do that a few times put the cap back on and you can hear the diesel being sucked down the neck for some reason and that way i can get an extrta £1 worth in there :cheesy: . its no wonder i get funny looks filling my car up then

Well the orange light has just come on after my first tank of diesel at 624 miles.
So not bad I guess but I really wanted 700 miles.
Not much chance of that on A and B roads I have to use to get to work and back :(

That's about 40-44 MPG so far (if you put in 14-15 galls)

Your Gti6 would have struggled to get high twenties

Filled mine up to the brim on wednesday night - took somthing like $72 worth in our moneys.

Filled it from exactly 1/4 tank though...

Done 108km and still havent hit 3/4 of a tank yet - me can feel some serious KM comming along. Today probably killed my fuel economy with 5 people in the car and being on quite a hilly part of Sydney meaning I had to stoke it through the gears a bit to get it moving along at a reasonable pace!

Will report in a 2 weeks - I'm going away next week and will probably be taking my friends Golf MK5 2.0 FSI - She better give me a drive!!! :P

40-45mpg isn't that bad put like that way :)
And yes the GTi-6 would struggle to get into high 20s.
But it was a lot of (expensive) fun ;)

Think i've put nearly 75 litres in mine, not bad for a 70 litre tank! £70.50 @ 97.9p, never again!

The first time i filled it up, i was almost lying on the ground checking for fuel leaks, going where the hell is it all going!

I pretty quickly found the way to fill is to put the pump in upside down, works a treat.

Had 57.7 mpg out of mine the other night coming home from work (i too took a photo :) ). strange as most of the time i get about 53, always between 49 and 55 mpg.

did once have it around the 60mpg mark, was a long trip from yorkshire to the south of london in the wet, spend the entire journey doing a constant 60mph due to traffic.

I remember brimming it @ 75 litres, petrol started to come out of the filler point when I removed the nozzle, so I just bunged the cap on :D lol
