Well, Im still waiting for my service kit to turn up, so I did the following today...

changed gear box oil
Fit new back box
strip and grease all brake assemblies
clean all wheels back and front

In doing this I've found..
knackered lower engine mount (already got new one off eBay last year :D )

Image

brake hose begining to perish (just ordered set from Goodridge :D :D )
handbrake cables are knackered (£7 ish fromEuroCarParts )

Here we go again :|

Lieing flat on my back under the car whilst on axle stands :cheesy:

Might have an attempt at changing it at the weekend, if I can't get it out by thrashing it I'll take it to my mates garage, really can't be bothered to take the drive shaft off to remove the bracket

Mine's torn through aswell. It must be the torque of the engine, I would hate to see how much it moves under load :|

Simple rule of thumb; If you want to drive it mostly on the road get a Vitara, if you want to drive it mostly off the road get an SJ
