What is the point

Post by TooT »

Why would anybody walking in between two parked cars think that running a key into a cars paintwork would be a good idea?

Well some f*cking c*nt must of thought it would improve the look of my 406 boot by carving a f*cking great scratch from one tail light to the other tail light

Im not impressed especially as my Pugs bodywork WAS nearly without blemish

If any low-life scum reading this has done it before please feel free to post your reasoning why scratching a car has any point at all?

I truly sympathise. The bootlid of my silver 406 was keyed and the bastards went through to the metal. A couple of cars on my street were done, must have been pissheads. I'd love to see the look on their face if their prized XR2i was keyed. W*nkers.

It's a new take on "one upmanship" - I'm too feckless and useless to make what I have better, so I'll make what you have worse. It's the same sort of moron who hacks and trashes websites. I think most of us will be able to sympathise, having had a similar experience, the times it's happened to me I've felt worse than if I'd been assaulted myself!

Worth trying it with your insurers?

Sorry to hear this Tooty.

The trouble is, it DOES de-value your car come trade-in time.

What do you do? get the boot lid resprayed and then panic about it happening again ??????

Bloody nuisance, and as steve says it is a form of devalueing other people. Some little scrote has some 'issues' going on in his poxy life and decides that WE should be part of it too, instead of killing himself, like.

I was saying to my missus to get a newer, nicer car this year and she said "what's the point?" "I can park this car wherever I want, no one touches it, and I don't have to worry about it," "if i get a new one it will get ruined".

She works, and parks, at a supermarket and kind of has a point really.

It may be cheaper to sort if you just get another boot lid, I picked one up for mine for £20.
I've been so tempted to rig up the car to the mains when its parked at night, just like that theft deterrent in robocop!

I brought myself to look at it again this evening and im hoping that a bloody good T-Cut and machine polish it might just disappear to the untrained eye. Its the last quarter of the scratch where he has given it a good flick of the wrist thats not looking too good

There's people around (check the yellow pages) that specialise in scratch repair. I've seen some of their handiwork and have to admit they can be bloody good at what they do!
<steve_earwig> I think this forum is more about keeping our cars going with minimal outlay than giving our cars more reason to go bang

Highly recommended, they got a load of scratches & chips out on my saab & gave the whole car a mop. It wasn't bank breaking at all and they did a really good job.

I have a key scratch from one side of the boot lid to the other, its been there since 2005 and for a while I had an idea who it was and they got their dues, so I never bothered with them after that.... felt sorry for them! lol

Incedentially the scratch is still there lol
