Creaking clutch pedal

Post by Welly »

My clutch pedal has developed a rather inconvenient creak when I depress the blighter.

I squirted (quite generously) the pivot points with some Silicone WD stuff but that didn't stop it.

Have any of our members exprienced this problem? and if so is there a fix?

This creaking spoils an otherwise perfectly quiet interior [sic].

Thank you

Yes it reminded me of the two (and only) Vauxhalls I had

Strangely I think it might be the pedal rubber bit rather than the mechanism :?

My Nissan did that, it was the pressure plate...

Different to my Ni$$an, it only did it after it had a new clutch. I presume they didn't bother greasing the fulcrum.

Steve, you seem a little hostile towards this Nissan of your$.

Anything you'd like to re-live for the audience?

I went through a 'Jap' phase between 2003 and 2005 but I'm much better now. Bejesus, they were expensive years :o

Jap = quality, trouble free motoring, Pfffft!!!! :frown:

Not really. All I can say is if you ever think a double-cab pick-up truck would be useful, go out and buy a trailer.

The other week I was waiting in ASDA's car park for her indoors and watched with interest as a man proceeded to place numerous plastic bags of groceries into the open flat back pick up bit of his 'lifestyle' Nirvana thing (what with it not actually having a lockable boot and all).

I wondered what state the shopping would be in by the time he got home  Omelette anyone?

After that I saw a tatoo'd knuckle dragger place a 24 pack of beers on the parcel shelf behind the kiddies :x stupid idiot  I nearly went all Roger Cook and went to explain his error but then turned back

You'd have probably been the recipient of a knuckle sandwich. Anyway, does the world really need his offspring? More tiny little knuckle draggers? Believe me, it's better this way.

I'm going to have to start a blog or something because I don't want to bore you lot with the sort of stuff I see on the roads everyday but...

Yesterday I went to ZG, on the way there I was in a queue stuck behind a tipper truck doing 30mph. When we got to a straight the panel van in front of me pulled out to overtake the cars in front and the tipper truck. Then one of the other cars pulled out behind it to do the same. When it got in front of the tipper truck, the panel van quickly tucked in to reveal the truck coming the other way doing about 65  Amazingly, the car behind the tipper truck backed off to let the idiot in. I was thinking how he probably wouldn't be so lucky in the UK.

On the way home I got stuck behond some guy driving a golf with a little kid playing about in the back (seat belts?) He was doing about 25-30 round the bends and slowing to almost nothing going over some speed bumps (think large, sprawling, semi-derelict industrial estate). I just thought he was being careful because of the kid. I was stuck beind him all the way to the main road (hey, I'm in no hurry) where, without slowing down, he pulled straight out on a Mercedes Sprinter, which slewed about all over the road trying to loose some speed. Unfortunatly Darwin must been taking a breather because he managed to miss it.

Anyway, what sort of lifestyle does a Navara give you? Permenantly empty wallet, stiff neck and nothing in your life bigger than 4'6"? I thought the tailgate with no lock on it was a masterstroke too. I must admit it came into its own when I went to the cash & carry and the couple of times I drove up a dirt track to high in the mountains, the rest of the time it was the most useless car I've ever owned. They brought out the new one while I had it too, so I lost a packet when I sold it. Well, not actually "sold", I traded it in for the D9. :(
