Dinky Toy Delight!

Post by Welly »

When I was refurbishing my last house in 2000 I happened upon a box under the floor boards whilst routing some cables.

Well, in this box were some genuine 'boxed' dinky toys which we kept and brought with us to our new house, put in the attic, forgot about etc.

Now, 8 years later she/we/I decided to sell them.

They were auctioned yesterday and her indoors has just rung in wth the following prices:

Jaguar XK120 £75.00 sold
Jaguar XK120 £75.00 sold
Austin Van £120.00 sold
Triumph TR2 £120.00 sold
Packard Convertible £38.00 (on reserve)

£390.00 :cheesy: :cheesy: :cheesy:

Not bad eh?

I never took a pic of them, and at the same time I didn't really get the whole Dinky thing so I figured I could please a collector somewhere (they were all spotless including the boxes) and I could pocket some folding in the process :)

Afterall they were'nt from my family anyway :P [/feeling slightly guilty]

According to her indoors the money will be used for spending money on holiday this year :|

I'll just have to make sure I get extra-bladdered to at least get some pleasure/worth from the money :)

As they say "a result"!

I had some when I was a kid but none of them survived. I knew where my dad kept his hammers...

I've got a couple of boxes of cars in the attic. Dinky, Corgi and about 20 boxed matchbox cars from the 80's. Must get them out and find an auction :)
