Oh Dear lord, I have sinned

Post by tux2006 »

OK so just to clear my concience I will tell you...I have bought a new car...and its not peugeot

So I've gone and bought myself a vauxhall astra, for the boy racer inside me. It was too good a deal to turn down, but unfortunately this means the 6 has to go.

I don't know what to do with it yet, may break it, may sell it, may give it to the dogs home....or stick it on ebay.

Its an R reg red 406 LX 1.8 petrol, its has done 104,000 miles so still has abit of life in her yet. Its also a little rough around the edges...it took a rear ending 6 months ago which has only left a crack in the rear bumper, the main right chassis leg is slightly crumpled, but as I'm told its beyond any mounting points, so is ok to get though an MOT (in certain places!) apart from this it has been fixed up ok.
The front bumper could do with replacing and also its a hubcap short, aside form the above all is perfect.

I'll be sad to see her go, but I have a feeling I would probably get more for breaking her than just selling.

Anyone need any parts?

Tonight, at about seven o'clock, just before you go to bed, say three hail mary's and cross your forehead with holy water. That will bring you forgiveness my child.

+1

Good drivers car...the only thing I don't like about them is that they are a tad understated in the looks department! Interior is way better than anything Japanese of the same period!

You know, a friend of mine has an 07 plate Astra and it's just.. uhm.. what's the word.. well, nothing special. It's relatively modern and all that but it just feels mass produced like most Jap cars. Same goes for Fords actually. My housemate has a Mondeo and another friend has a Focus SanitaryTowel and they both feel exactly the same. And back to Astra.. it was creaking and rattling all over.. on an 07 plate!!! :|
