AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARGH!
Ok, so there I was, couple of months back, heading out on some errands. Stopped at the dry cleaners to drop off some clothes. Reversed in to a space and saw the guy in front of me get out of his parked car and start looking at his bumper.
He had some metallic black people carrier, 57 reg IIRC. Said I'd knocked his bumper. Sure enough, there was a tiny white scratch.
Who's clever frakking idea was it to paint bumpers? With expensive metallic paint no less?
I had felt nothing, and saw no corresponding damage on my own bumper. But because this was an older chap with a pretty new car, I gave him the benefit of the doubt. Rather than speed off or give him a fake name and number, I promised to pay for the repair and gave him my mobile no.
So he calls me a few weeks later, by which time I'd been hoping he'd forgotten about the whole thing. His best quote was £350, just for a bumper respray.
I told him very firmly that that was not going to happen, and that a neighbour of mine is a very good self-employed mechanic. I spoke with my guy who guesstimated £130. Quite a frakking difference, yesno.
So between this old boy struggling to to understand that my neighbour was going to pick up the car and fix it in one day flat, and my neighbour forgetting to turn up to the first appointment, I eventually go the whole thing arranged.
Now, two weeks later...
THE MOTHER FRAKKER HAS CLAIMED AGAINST MY INSURANCE!!!!!!!!!!!!!
And I can;t find his god-damned phone number to save my life.
What an unbelieveable penis-head. I mean seriously, what kind of retarded, degenerate son of a P.E teacher is this guy?
Jesus H. Christ on a bicycle, I am unspeakably angry. Think I shall wait for him to get the bumper fixed then go around his house and use his face to make several new dents...
AARGH!

Deny all knowledge. Did anyone call the police? No. Did he get any witnesses? No. As far as I remember your car's green so where's the white come from?

Unless, of course, you really do think you did it, then you'd be a penis for not paying up...

My mother's car was struck gently, or kind of side-swiped, by an old geezer in a clapped out Carlton at a retail shopping crap park. It took some paint off her bumper and she went to confront him - he said she could f*ck off basically and denied it and said she'd struggle to claim in a car park situation and he just pissed off out of it.
I think in your situation - and if there were no marks on your bumper I would have told him to swivel there and then.
He sounds like a bit of an old bully an he's probably been waiting for a nice lad like you to come along and ruin their day to get his bumper fixed.
I guess you may struggle to worm out of it now as you kind of admited liability by giving him your number etc.
It's hard luck though for sure and something to bear in mind in future. Good luck though, whatever happens with it chap.

Maybe Swiss got talking with the guy about his car, noticed the mark and gave him his number because he's got a neighbour who can fix it cheap?
If you deny it, you'll probably end up in court with him having to prove that you did it somehow...
