Automatic mode.......
The coded anti-start system can be programmed in two different ways.
-Automatic mode, where the system is controlled by the remote control,or
-Manual mode ,where the system is controlled by illumination of the green light.
Found the Procedure for changing the keycode from my owners manual...

The system must be in manual mode ....
1- Switch on ignition.
2-enter your code already stored in memory.
3-press button C.
4 -Enter the 4-digit code. (i guess new code)
5-press C to validate
The code is confirmed by four flashes of the green light and four beeps.
OR
Programming the system in auto mode.....
1- Switch on ignition.
2-Enter your confidential code (confirmed with illumination of the green light)
3- Whithin 10 secs press the following buttons C 1 C
Confirmation is by four green flashes and four beeps.
Your system is now in automatic mode

Using the system in automatic mode
-Unlock the doors using the remote control
-you can start the engine.
if the remote control does not work ,enter your confidentiel code manually.
if this happens contact your local peugeot dealer to have the system checked........
as before this is taken from my owners manual (1996 406)
