friend of my dad's has a 1959 Cadillac with central locking, electric windows, electric adjustable headlights, heated and electric adjustable seats, cruise control, powered air vents, air suspension, indash record player etc so why we're the brit car makers holding back
My Dad had a Rootes group Hillman Minx, I remember as lad the chassis members were rotten after just 3 years - but it had leather seats and arm rests - in the front and back. It had a side valve engine and was a lot faster than cars of today cos there were not many cars on the road then.
My first car as a MKV Cortina, I upgraded the ICE system from a radio and 2 small speakers to a radio/cassete and 2 HI FI speakers in the rear footwell!! Then I went really posh a few years later and bought a Lancia Delta with 5 gears, wow 5 gears just to go forward, it had leccy windows at the front, and was my first front wheel drive and the first time I'd experienced understeer!!!
