No chance in the dry but it's not too difficult in the wet when done properly

Correct, but the handbrake is so ineffective, you have to fit the foot brakes and for some reason the abs kicks in when you do

prolly because the back wheels stop turning, so the car senses the skid, and the abs kicks in to correct it, which is waht its designed to do.

my handbrakes been no bad since i adjusted the cable up a bit, but i think i need new shoes, as theres a wee grumbly noise off the back for about 2 mins after pulling away if you have had the handbrake on.

Why would you want to use the foot brake and the handbrake at the same time while in motion?

I wouldn't. But when 'testing' the handbrake, i had to apply the footbrake to prevent me driving into a wall. Obviously, i only tested it the once. lesson learned.
