Yeah, all "new" cars need their tyres changed and tracking done for some reason. Thread can be good but if there's a kink in there or something, it can be a pain in the arse.

Well, since you ask...
  • God awful brakes, including
    The handbrake
    Chip in windscreen
Whistling from air ducts after a DIY service last year
    Fuel line sucking air
Horn doesn't work on the stalk I got for me fog light shenanigans
Said stalk seems to be making an electrical buzzing (worried it's sparking)
Tacho's started to go a bit crazy (lambda sensor? Or bad soldering?)
    Cig burn in driver's seat
    EVERYTHING FRAKKING RATTLES
    High idle speed
Millions of scratches and scrapes in the body
Numerous small scuffs/threadbare spots in the upholstery
Passenger airbag cover still peeling, despite my NMN bodge
Front door seals held on with gaffa tape
One of the former owners did an amateurish hands-free kit installation and now the guts are spilling out from under the glove box
Car is goddam filthy inside and out as I'm too skint/lazy to clean it

Suggestions appreciated :)

What would a lambda sensor have to do with a tacho? (Hint: your car doesn't have one anyway)

Oh yes, I love other people's electrical installations (get it out before your car burns!)

Get out there and hoover it, you lazy goit :P

Just to update....
Captain Jack wrote:1) Clutch pedal ended up on the floor one morning after overnight. Brought it back up manually and it hasn't repeated the ordeal just yet.
This hasn't actually reoccured again, so I am hoping the problem will/has gone away.....
Captain Jack wrote:2) Relatively loose gear stick. Several times selected 4th rather than 2nd. Will need to check the linkages or the gear stick mount. Gear stick doesn't move with acceleration.
Getting used to not selecting 4th gear when I need 2nd! Will leave this one for now...
Captain Jack wrote:3) Weird whistling noise at speeds over 60mph. Suspected tyres - had the same problem in my other car. Will rotate them and see if the noise goes away. Or it could be related to... :arrowd:
Solved... stupidly it was the radio aerial making a LOUD noise - I just lowered it and the noise has completely gone
Captain Jack wrote:4) Second part of the undertray has dislodged itself and had to be removed. Will need to zip-tie that back on.
Done :cheesy: :supafrisk:
Captain Jack wrote:5) Tracking crap - keeps veering to the left and to go straight, the steering wheel needs to be turning slightly to the right. Paid £82.80 to have tracking done on Tuesday and, although, they said tracking was out by 1.2 degrees on some wheels, the problem is still there. (tossers)
Rotated the tyres, but realised I should only have rotated tyres on o/s side and not all of them as the wear on tyres is all over the place. Will have to change it again...
Captain Jack wrote:6) Loose ignition barrell. I am guessing something holding it has become loose so will need to superglue that back in.
Had a good look at that and I can't actually see where the screw is/was supposed to be on the barrell. Don't want to end up with a stuck key... :|

7) Temperature gauge this afternoon was reading -7C  Strangely, it's after I played about with the rear speakers, but it's probably just a coincidence.....

We used to have a D8 pool car years ago at work, and some of the chavs always used to point the aerial straight up, no idea why  :? I realised that the annoying noise was much louder with the sunroof open so cracked that one pretty quick. Every time I went out in that car I had to lean the aerial back.... :frown: the idiots still used to point it back up though, they must have been deaf!!.

(on the plus side the rattle at idle does not bother me while the car is not working the moment, weird that)
well, thats the timing belt and the damage it did repaired, and now its running its reminded me of one i missed off the list

exhaust rattles.

OK, all done :) Screw was nearly out. Still a little loose inside the actual barrel but much better.

8) Odd banging when braking hard but couldn't reproduce it today....

On a good note, I found that I have electrically foldable mirrors... a nice surprise :cheesy:

Well, the stalk's not buzzing. Turns out it's the wee bit of plastic trim by the clutch where I rest me lefty whilst in fifth. 'Tis creaking. So it could be worse, but this gets a :|

Meanwhile, my seat's squeaking, forward port quarter. Bad spring or squeaky fitting, I wonder... gonna rip 'em out eventually anyway.
