It's nice here, sunshine, few clouds, mid 20s again. However, I've been instructed that, as it's Easter, I can't do any work today. Sodding Catholics  Where'd I put my nails?

HSte to say it, but yesterday, I'd washed our 2 and my father-in-law's car, then went for a walk along the canal, today we're off to the coast to make the most of this sunshine again.

Guess I should go and attack the car today. Not as pleasant as yesterday but still dry and not too windy. Think I'll be doing the following:

1. Hammer the rust off the O/S/R brake backplate and grease up
2. Check the front spark plugs. See if the wells are full of oil again
3. Change the rear plugs
4. Remove and clean the throttle body and ICV while they're off the car (thankfully I have new gaskets)
5. Remove the cruise control stuff so I can figure out what's wrong with it
6. Try to change the centre mirror. I still have no idea how to get the clip back on, but the 807 one was almost stiff enough without it so I'll see how it goes without it...

Good luck with that list Matt! Did you get to the bottom of the power loss you reported recently?
On a side note I've got an engine swap to do on my bike, replaced the entire cooling system (which was knackered) and now found the cooling system is being pressurised :x Ironically the mileage is 66650, I may have to get it to 66666 before I do the swap

Nein, that's why I'm going to have a poke around the plugs. Mind you I'm half tempted to just leave it with the clutch in desperate need of replacement

Going to view another house with a potentially decent garage Tuesday. If I get it, I think I'll probably have the gearbox out before I've even unpacked

Guess who forgot the inlet manifold gasket AGAIN? At least I've got my performance back. Looked under the bonnet and lo and behold the IAT sensor was unplugged

Sorted the brake backplate too. Lots of hammering, a big pile of rusted chunks on the floor, and now the only noise is the chirping/whining of the crappy tyres :)

Also replaced the mirror. Thankfully although the connectors are different between the 406 and 807 (the latter using a large blue one whereas the 406 has a small black one), the pins in them crimped to the wires are the same so I just needed to remove the wires from the plug (necessary for splitting the mirror from the base anyhow) and plug the pins from the 807 mirror into the 406 plug. Seeemples! As to whether I'll use the automatic functionality or not still remains to be seen - I never have manual mirrors set to anti-glare when there's street lights around...

Now, do I make a few phone calls and head to a pub with a beer garden?
