Californication

Post by swiss »

Well peeps, me and the missus are back from sunny, sunny San Diego. Went to Comic Con and saw loads of cool stuff and famous people. Also hit Seaworld, Tijuana and the USS Midway, as well as the lovely city of SD itself.

Anyway, on to the really important stuff that you guys want to know about: the hire car. Now, Swiss' Missus had booked us a Chrysler PT cruiser, on the basis that it was the cheapest convertible available. After an 11 hour flight in to the city of angels, we pitch up at National car hire. We sort out the paperwork and the guy sends us out to the lot with the instruction to head to the section signposted 'convertible' to just pick one and drive away.

So we get out there. No cars. Not a single PT cruiser in sight. By now really quite annoyed, we dragged our cases back in to the office. The guy agreed that since we had paid for a convertible, we ought to get one even if they had run out of Chryslers (gotta love American customer service).

He looks at us and and simply says "there's two Mustangs outside, go take one".

And so my friends, wifey and I spent the last week and half cruising around southern California in a soft top Ford Mustang 4.0 V6.
