Hard sell of the week?

Post by Doggy »

Whilst waiting in the queue to drive onto the Norfolk Line ferry at Dover on Saturday, one of their staff hands out 'safety leaflets' to all drivers. Turns out to be a flyer full of dire warnings not to get caught driving in France without the safety essentials they coincidentally sell on board.....
To cut a long rant short, they're conning punters into shelling out over £50 for a high-vis vest, a warning triangle, first aid kit, two stick-on beam deflectors and a set of spare bulbs
I decided to ignore it, (the fine's probably less), but have resolved to stock up cheap, at home, for next time....
2002 HDi 2.2 Exec Estate, (2008-12) (wonderful)
2003 HDi 2.2 6-speed Exec Estate (2012-19) (also a gem)
2009 Citroen C5 2.0 HDi VTR+ Estate (godawful heap)
2008 BMW E91 330i touring (great fun - murdered by a reversing SUV)
2007 BMW E91 325i touring (slower smoother quieter)

The triangle, high viability jerk off, set of bulbs and first air kit are mandatory here, the cops have never checked I have them but they look for the bulbs and first aid kit during the MOT (or equivalent). The first aid kits don't work out much cheaper than that, I'm still driving about with the one I nicked from BT :cheesy: I'm not sure how tight the fuzz are across the sleeve but if you don't have all that stuff and don't want hassle from the gendarmes it doesn't seem too bad to me.
