I own a 3.75hp Brigg's on my Yard King 21-incher :P :P

Shame on you for never changing the oil Doggy - the manual clearly states an oil change every 50 hours of use. I change the oil every season, I could pull my dipstick out now and show you the clean oil 8) I've never seen the need to modify the throttle on mine, maybe it's more free revving with it's bespoke Pipercross Induction kit I made (facto) 8)

[quote[Oh, I wouldn't mind seeing the timing sheets from anyone who has run an unmodified PSA V6 petrol engine at 160mph in controlled conditions. Not legend or rumour, some hard evidence backed up by science and technology.[/quote]
Timing sheets? Controlled conditions? What on earth are you on about?
since the tail end of the last decade the TuV euro regs mean manufacturers have to quote accurate figures for power, acceleration and top speed (although there are different methods for measuring the acceleration and several opposing standards have been adopted by different manufacturers), so if they'll do 160 it would be interesting to consider why Peugeot didn't claim it themselves?
Simple - no two cars are exactly alike, so manufacturers under-spec their cars to the point where they suspect nobody will be able to sue them for selling them an under-powered car. The proof here is that modern cars require their ECUs programming with the exact performance characteristics of each of their injectors. Also even older cars like the 406 have ECUs which adapt their fuelling and timing strategies to compensate for component variances.
It's not like a slower performance figure ever sold any cars, is it? The most powerful unit PSA use (the new 3.0 V6 HDi 240) happens to also be in the most aerodynamic car Peugeot have ever sold (the 407 coupe) and that doesn't come close to 160.
It also has shorter gearing, a lot more weight, a dual mass flywheel, different gearbox, different diff and different wheels. Where's your proof of it being the most aerodynamic car to date?

Your average modern coach has about 500bhp, should that be able to do 200mph?
<steve_earwig> I think this forum is more about keeping our cars going with minimal outlay than giving our cars more reason to go bang
