Eezibleed! Fits the 406 reservoir fine. Lob your spare wheel on the engine, flatten it to 20psi, fill the bottle with new brake fluid, connect it all up and to bleed all you need to do is undo the bleed screw - no pumping or constant topping up the reservoir! Makes it a LOT easier to bleed with PP2000 connected and working the ABS solenoids!

14 litre oil drain pan. It's as big as a wheel!!! Think I'll buy the oil, filter and some gasket compound at the weekend so I can re-seal the sump

450Nm impact wrench, 240v, 1KW

The jury's still out on the impact wrench. It's HUGE, HEAVY and STINKS from all the sparking you can see in the back of it... Thing is it wouldn't remove a couple of my wheel studs. Couldn't remove them with my wheel brace, but they weren't too hard to shift with the 24" breaker bar. Hmmmm. Got to admit though, I've taken 4 wheels off and re-fitted them, and my back isn't screaming at me despite forgetting to take painkillers/anti-inflammatories. Think that's got to be worth £60!

Re: New tools
I could do with an eazibleed kit and an oil catch as I currently use an old washing up bucket thing. As for the impact wrench, I've got a compressor and an air gun. May be worth investing in one of them MJB?

I'd think Matt will soon be protesting about lack of space/possibilities in a rented house but you can get a small compressor from Machine Mart that can be trundled about where ever you need it and you'd be amazed at the amount of things you can run with one. I recently wanted to buy a decent electric staple gun, the trouble was when I went to look at them they were well over 100 quid and for the same money I got a 25 litre 8cfm compressor and an air powered staple gun. I already have a 100 litre 10cfm compressor at home and wanted to buy another smaller one for my mrs' house but just couldn't justify the expense before. This one goes easily in the back of the estates (might have to lie down in a saloon/coupe) and has enough "go" in it to do pretty much anything I want.

Re: New tools
I've got quite a big Sealey one which is moveable too. I think mine is between 12-14CFM (ideal for spraying - Father in Law used it to spray his 18T wagon!). Doesn't half come in handy, especially when you've got a flat! They're not really all that expensive either, my compressor and air tools came in at under £250. I haven't really used it that much either, but once my garage is up I'll be using it all the time.

Re: New tools
I've been putting some very serious thought into air power, but all the compressors seem to be quite loud (90-100dB from the specs) and with tools, hose, etc you're looking 2x-3x the price of this electric thing. There's also space to consider - I've only got about an average of 2 foot usable around the sides of the car in my garage (1 foot front and back)...
When I saw this mains powered impact wrench for under £60, it seemed like a no-brainer, especially compared to the battery powered ones which have less torque than a good fart and cost many hundreds

<steve_earwig> I think this forum is more about keeping our cars going with minimal outlay than giving our cars more reason to go bang
