I'm a bit of a nerd when it comes to AI systems; if there's a chat bot out there, I've probably had a go at it once or twice...
4of6 was based on A.L.I.C.E., which is a Loebner Prize-winning chat bot engine. I joined these forums long after 4of6 disappeared, but I've used bots based on A.L.I.C.E. before, and haven't been too impressed with their ability to carry out a conversation, and to make relevant remarks or ask suitable questions.
The best I've seen thus far has been, bizarrely, Jabberwacky (http://www.jabberwacky.com). Two bots based on Jabberwacky, named George and Joan, also won the Loebner Prize in 2005 and 2006, respectively. It'd be nice to get a Jabberwacky-based bot for these forums but I don't think it's available to install on private forum sites yet.
It would be kind of cool to bring in an AI chat bot and teach it about basic 406 maintenance - sort of an interactive FAQ.

Tell you what, we could confuse the hell out of people of we all pretend to be 4of6, all we need to do is pass out the password via pm and lie in wait for visitors
