I buy original games for my 360 because my console was bloody expensive and has a 60% failure rategRoberts wrote:I think about 90% of the people that buy things like games, music and software, clearly don't know there is another way of getting them for free if not at a reduced cost.
Those remaining are the hardcore fans that like to spend the money.

If someone cracks the 360 like they did with the original xbox (allowing operation without needing to faff about with dvds), I'll download and play a LOT more, but I'll also buy the ones I enjoy in order to support the developers. That's the way I prefer to do things - I have a substantial collection of CDs at home, but not one of those have I bought without hearing the whole album first

DVDs/Blu-ray? I buy TV series and the occasional really good film, but as far as films go, the downloads are better because they're the same quality but without the adverts and anti-piracy warnings. Seriously, those things (which you can't ever skip ARGH) do my nut in.
PC games (when I used a PC for gaming) I just bought to support the developers. I didn't even open the box on a lot of them because the downloaded version was ALWAYS a better experience than messing about installing things, registering things, finding CD keys, installing DRM software, updating, etc
So there it is... "Pirates" deliver a vastly better experience than movie studios, record companies, games distributors, etc
