Thats nothing for a tidy wee economical car with a years ticket.

Strange no-one has called yet.

My only advice would be, and I'm not being negative (possible pun :) ), but your photo on the gumtree search result, the red looks a little faded.

I know you've polished it up and it looks spotless. The picture you posted here looks far better. Perhaps you can get a basic paint application and darken the red slightly? Not really cheating, as I'm sure in real life it is shiny Ferrari-red.

Perhaps even put the 3rd picture with the front/nearside as the main picture that shows in the search results? It shows off the colour a bit better.

"PREVIOUS OWNER ACQUIRED VEHICLE ON 03/07/2000 (OWNED FOR ALMOST 11 YEARS)"

If I was looking at the ad in the market for a car, I'd be thinking 2000 + 11 = 2011. This year. So why is *this* owner selling? Rings unnecessary alarm bells.

Perhaps make it a bit vaguer? "One owner for 11 years" or similar?

Really nice car there though, would make someone a nice wee first car.

we paid £495 last year for a p reg 1.1 106 with 9 months test and 4 months tax. so i think your price is about right i f not a little low, give it time most people on monthly pay get paid around now so another week should see it sold.

cheers trem, it will sell i'm sure. and the new buyer will not be dissapointed.

i really want to keep it for the wife but shes learning to drive and many say its not good buying a car before they have passed

it really is a little tidy 106 & with the new MOT in my hand it should sell better.

the exhaust and tyres are almost brand new as is the rear shoes and 2 cylinders now (done the rear brakes today) and it went back in for the retest and passed.

if it hasnt sold before i go on holiday i will defo keep it for the wife and insure it every month or 2 for a week and keep it in use. a weeks insurance is £25 , its worth it to keep it in use so its not stood while shes learning to drive .

Good point by trem1.

Pay day is next Tuesday.

It is also after a bank/public holiday (ie. more people with more time to go carshopping! 8) )

So put her beside the Uncle Joes factory with a sign in the window :cheesy:

Remember, if you're the registered keeper of the car, and you're not declaring the car SORN whilst it's uninsured, you're now breaking the law  Insurance companies win yet again!

How does that insurance law work?

Taxed + uninsured + parked on road = towed away + fine?

Taxed + uninsured + on private land = fine?

Taxed + insured = left alone

SORN + uninsured = left alone

?

What a disgrace. For starters, I know someone who collects Citroens, and he just switches the insurance between his taxed fleet based upon what he will be using / what needs work done for the next week.
So he will either have to have them all insured, or SORN the ones he isn't immediately using, retax them when he reinsures them, SORN them when finished.

I assume the insurance providers aren't going to cater for these situations by offering a mini-trade style policy (eg. any car below 200bhp / 3000cc / below £15k value etc etc.)

its very ackward to get short term insurance if you just have an older car you take out now and then for a proper drive.
But try and imagine the amount of paperwork for someone like jeremy clarksons insurance, driving different cars every day.

i'm not the registered keeper yet . i have full logbook in my hand in previous owners name ... (NO i wont do anything silly so she gets in trouble)

but if i do decide to keep it i will be putting it in my name and will tax it even tho we will only be using is monthly. at £60 tax is hardly expensive

see what happens tho yet.
