Wow! That must have taken days! How many pictures is that?

Fantastic stuff to date. It must be great to have so much room to do that in, everything similar I've tried to do has been in a single garage with nowhere to store anything. It never ended well...

The body looks pretty good but it looks like you've got some fiddly bits to sort out, not sure of the best way to tackle things like where the metal is missing on where the rear screen seal goes, you'll have to cut out the rust of course but then it'll get interesting :frown:

Plus stuff like the roof bar seals and the trim you mangled on one of the back doors, maybe you can use some sort of mastic for the seals but the trim will be made out of finest unobtanium.

I think there is somewhere over 1300 Pictures in total, it wasnt actually too bad for time, it took about 3 hours to photograph all the slides, and perhaps half a day speed across 2 weeks cropping the photos to make them a bit more presentable.

The space in the mushroom house is great, its handy being able to set all the parts across the floor, close the doors at night and come back the next day and everything is in the exact same place. The worst problem with down at the farm was stuff that got moved or disappeared.

As for the unobtanium parts, I'm wondering if the roof rail seals can be cut out of gasket material (motor factors do big sheets of cut it yourself gasket material) that might work. The steel trim will take some hunting to find.

The car now has no parts attached to it as of today, the back axle and fuel tank came out today:
Image
This was my cousins idea for lifting the back axle out, not very safe looking but then the 305 body with nothing attached is extremely light.
The axle came out handily enough, disconnect the one brake pipe, two handbrake cables, 6 nuts and it drops down.

This is it back down on the ground, with pallets under it to make it easier to move about.

My cousin also got his sandblaster working again so the subframe, front springs and shocks got blasted and are looking quite nice:

Looks great! Making serious progress now :) Are you painting the car yourself or having a body shop do it?

Thanks.
My cousin joeseph has the white van, and his brother adain builds rally cars/does accident damage repair for a living (It was he who sandblasted the parts).
So hopefully we can get him to spray our 305s at the same time.
The van is going to stay in its original white, I'm still thinking about colours to respray the estate.

Nice work again Frank, I hope you can continue your enthusiasm as we head into the Winter although I guess the Mushroom house can get quite toasty if you need.

Colour-wise I have an idea and to me it would have to be a genuine colour from 1985, only trouble is the colour I have in mind is 'that' Blue colour.....you know the one...that very light blue but I think that would be a nice compliment to the car.

Why not run a bit of a poll on here and get some opinions.

The last thing i need right now is another 05 generation peugeot, but i can still be tempted by a nice 505, its been saved in my watch list. Its a shame there are not more bids on ebay yet a sierra would have tonnes of bids.

Have you ever seen the Dangel 505s:

Wow that would be a tough old beast. Slightly worried about the mangled ID plate though which is also missing a wivvit top right.
