Mrs_Welly once left an opened box full of 12? of those foil pouches of Cat food out on the Kitchen worktop with our two Cats unsupervised, I'll let you imagine the scene that followed......

You might be onto something though HL....let the Cats decide! :cheesy:

I've been to the shop and bought some tinned fish, so let the trials commence.... One thing I did notice is very little of it is in brine, it's all veg oil, olive oil, tomato sauce or with veg. Weird.

No, I won't be holding tins up for them to choose.

I remember having my lower back MRI'd which meant being posted right inside up to my knees I think, they gave me a button to press in case I started panicking and wanted out. It was f*cking noisy though, and cold I seem to recall.

Can I just ask, did they actually manage to find your Brain? :P

Umm, I dunno, I was going to ask but I'll bet they hear it all the time, along with "oi mate, your washing machine's broke."

I have a DVD, maybe I should look at it :supafrisk:

That's AWESOME, in a geeky scientific way. And yet, vaguely horrifying.

Hope all is well with you, sir.

Cheers! Yeah, me too. It's chasing these darn headaches, I've been getting them more often and they're lasting longer, currently I've had the present headache for almost 3 weeks so I reckon it's time to do something about it. What's been putting me off is going through the health service here I'd get referred to the neurologist and he'd send me on for more tests, which I have to get a referral from my GP for and if they send me somewhere else I need more referrals, so it's a bit like playing snooker and having to pot the same red ball every time you pot a colour. Plus the waiting each time, I think the MRI is about 3 months.

So I decided to pay for it, you can't take it with you. This morning I've been to see a neurologist who's made a preliminary diagnosis - I have tension headaches, which I thought was something only Americans got, but he's sent me off for tests in case he's wrong. So then I went along for a Doppler radar test on the blood vessels in my neck (all fine) and MRIs of my noodle map and neck. The word on them is my neck's wearing out (hey, I am 50) and one of my sinuses is enlarged. I also have some malformation of my septum, not sure if that has anything to do with anything though.

So in 1 day I've probably bypassed a few month's waiting, plus all the agro of driving in and out of Zagreb, all for the princely sum of 260 quid (and most of that is the time on the MRI machine).

I still need to do some sort of neuro-psychological test, which we need to find out about as they don't do it there, and then pay for the final word from the neurologist but I think we must be more than half way there.

The headaches aren't as bad as the migraines I used to suffer on a regular basis (I've gone from 1 or 2 a week to 1 or 2 a year!) but having a dull pain in your head 24/7 is very wearing. Plus it can easily flare up and render me useless, when all I can do is go to bed with an ice pack on me bonce.

I was wondering if the MRI would bother anyone but then I reasoned that we see them on the telly quite often so it probably wouldn't be much of an issue. It's not like it's an actual slice of my head, complete with blood spraying everywhere...

I was watching a documentary a while back, I think it was about bones, they MRIed the presenter's head and printed him off a full scale model of his skull - now that would be freaky!!

I thought it was more like some sort of torture chamber, trying not to twitch with all the terminally loud noises going on. The guy said 20 minutes but I was in their almost exactly an hour as t'wife was outside waiting and watching the clock. No way I could go to a happy place with all that racket either. I really really need to take some ear plugs with me next time...

Headphones? What headphones? All I got was the squeezy panic thing, which was clutched in my right hand which fell asleep half way through so I probably couldn't have used it anyway.

Maybe they're expecting you to provide the CD? May I suggest "Now that's what I call tortured machinery dying in agony and going straight to hell vol.24"?

Ah yeah. they handed me Headphone's..or iirc they thrown em on my head,
and then brought out the two 'wedges.

the 'headphones was there for them to tell me off if 'iflinched,

Stomache probs' done help..acid reflux, so its hard to stay still, 'but they dont care,

They dont use the inside of the hospital for it up here...they walk you to a hidden carpark..and walk you up into the 'cattle waggon parked up.,

'and promptly..unwelcomly..greeted by a stone faced' scouse'r.. they aint good with paperwork,

they asked me after id been in the thing if 'id ever had metal in my eye's.

Bit late now..huh ive already been through the frikin thing. :(

Nice step forward with the MRI it really is a slice of you without all the mess, hope it helps to reveal whatever it is causing headaches. I get them quite a lot but especially after work and after dealing with annoying clients all day but my work is quite pressured I put them down to stress, I'm also supposed to wear glasses at my desk but don't as they make me feel weird so am prolly straining there too.

Enough about me, hope you get to the bottom of it asap mate.

I can officially confirm audi's do indeed have magnets in their front bumpers. .... since installing that massive lump of steel on the back of the jimny the only car that's tail gated me is an audi and it was so close I could only see the car from the bottom of the windscreen up in my rear view mirror.

All the best Steve, I hope they can figure out what the problem is.
