whats the need for the spacers? does the hub nut not fit through the middle part of the wheel?

Spacers move the wheel out by 20mm so that they clear the calipers and other little bits n pieces :) I can't explain it as well as others but it's all down to offset and where the wheel is in relation to the centre line of the wheel.

i know that the spacers do :) , i just wandered what the need for the spacer was, some hub nuts dont fit through the center of the wheel usally, i thought this would be the case.......how big are the disc's and calipers on the 406 then?

Peugeot offset is ET18, and Ford fitment is ET35-ET38 so you need 20mm spacers to make the wheels wit right in the well. Without spacers, the wheels would sit 20mm further in making catching on full lock much more likely and would likely mess the handling up aswell.

What 18's you got from the Focus then Mandelbug?

Checked the wheels when I was putting them back on today and mine are ET35 but I've actually spaced them out 23mm so they're now ET12, so they sit nicely towards the edge of the arch.

Those wheels, one of less than 10 sets in the UK I believe. They are Outlaw Uzi's and not seen them for sale before or after I got them, only ever saw them on one other focus many years ago

They should look well sweet on a 406. I'm keeping my eyes open for some cheap 18's or 19's for show/meet/pic use. There's a set very similar to them on eBay atm.
