Hah - it was :) I bought her 2 years ago with about 27,000 on the clock. I passed 54,000 on the way back from Earlston yesterday.

The colour was always something I loved about my saloon - I'm still completely gutted. I woke up this morning hoping I'd dreamt it :(

Bejesus, I was expecting a 'scratch' not a mahoosive gouge :x

So that happened whilst you were out in the Coupe? :(

The 2.2 petrol is supposed to be a sparkling performer with lots of low-down grunt and 170bhp :cheesy:

You should get better fuel economy too.

Yeah, that's when it happened. Unbelievable.

I'm going to need to get the indicator fixed in order to keep it legal, even if I don't get the dent pulled and the paintwork repaired. I'll also speak to the guy who sprayed my spoiler; he was a hell of a lot cheaper than the other body shop and spray companies, he got the colour match perfectly, and did an excellent job of painting the part. Fingers crossed he can give me a good quote.

Remember Aberdeen is an oil city - there are very few people driving about with battered cars - I think my chances of selling her at all would grow considerably if I get her patched up a bit, at least.

That said - anyone want to buy a lightly used 1999 mk.2 Peugeot 406 LX saloon? China Blue, 54,000 genuine miles, leather door cards, leather steering wheel, genuine Peugeot 406 spoiler, Powerflow stainless steel cat-back exhaust system fitted this year, genuine Peugeot alloy wheels, ITG performance panel air filter. Comfortable, safe, practical family car. 2 careful owners. Mild damage to the drivers' side, and a couple of trolley dings. Offers accepted.

You could try to sell it "as is", think of how much you'd have sold it for before the retard hit it, drop it by a few hundred and see if there's any takers. Then fix it If no-one responds.

I reckon the cheapest fix would be some exchange doors and a wing and get the whole side blown in (I mean painted).

Trying to fill that and make a decent job of it would be a challenge.

The biggest selling point by far is the genuine low mileage and worth making a fuss of.

Nice coop fella :D (Sorry I miss-read the OP and assumed it was one of the S&B "special" editions  )

Just cost me £350 to get the side of the wife's fucus reprayed after some tw@ keyed it, that was just painting, no dents. With the damage you've got it's gonna be at least £500 I reckon  . BAStuds!

Hey Bailes, where are you? I could take her at least part of the way and meet you if you're interested in buying her. The furthest I've ever driven is York, but that's a little bit too far to go for me.

Alternative: one-way train trip/flight up North and drive back down South? She's a really good runner, a solid mile-muncher, even in her current state.

I'd be happy letting her go to a forum member in her current state as I know everyone here would lovingly restore the bodywork.

It's the 1.8i engine - I guess it's the EW7 J4 (115 HP). The car was built and registered during November 1999.

VIN is VF38BLFYExxxxxxxx if that helps you.

I'm in a predicament at the moment. No insurance company will insure me on my car for less than £3400. My insurance company have given me a £1300 renewal price (They said they will let me renew at last years prices). They want £1100 on the Focus I'm getting. But they won't touch me on a Petrol 406 :(
