No auto lights or wipers (I miss the auto wipers), but it does have heated mirrors  (or it would do if I could be arsed replacing the glass as the elements have had it)

After £2600 (same as I paid for it). 182k on the clock, serviced the other month, metallic blue not the best condition paintwork but the engine's fine - not smoking, starts fine from cold. Got about 4 months T&T I think but don't quote me on that

Oh, and unlike pugs, the golf's heated seats are VARIABLE!  8)

Work done:

New clutch (receipt from a couple of months before I bought it)
Replacement steering rack
New brake pads+discs (rear i think, can't remember)
New AC condenser
New radiator
New MAF
New wing mirror switch
Drivers door de-locked (pretty much essential mk4 security measure)
Rear washer leak fixed
Phillips Extreme headlights fitted
Oil changes (CarLube Triple R PD)
Oil filter, fuel filter, air filter, pollen filter
probably some more I forgot about. I'll even get round to fitting the new sunblind clip I bought months ago

Vairable heated seats 'ooooh do i want a 2 or a 4 today. That would drive me mad, mainly because of the numercal thingy discussed somewhere i would either have it at max or min like it was in my dads passat. It had heated seats but they were too firm gave him and me backache, i like my big sofa ie the 406 driving seat. whizz wee oooh zeeee buuuzzzz vvvvvvv unaaaah BLEEP electric seats i dont know why they are in the car they take ages to move but you do get good adjustment and a fun toy.

German seats tend to be very uncomfortable.

Especially Audis, seats are like church pews.

And they have plastic sides to the driver seats, just to catch the buttock as you get out. Sore

Yip the germans like a bit of pain i suppose hence the hard seats, except merc seats they are as good as the sofas the french put in their cars. This was one of the biggest dissapointments with my clio i tested a diesel one with standard seats and thought wow these are lovely and squidgey, then i got mine in dynamic trim, no support at all and thick buckety sides that curled my sholders in. The 406 seats are great though you just sink into them and having an armrest right on the seat means its always in a good place.

The squidgiest seats ever that ive sat on is a draw between a peugeot 505, and a big renault 25 tds that thing was like a pc world repmobile from the 80s every single thing was digital, i think it spoke

Cheeky git :P I know how sensitive diseasels (especially PD TDIs) are when it comes to oil abuse... unlike the XU10J2TE

I don't find my Golf's seats too bad. It's no 406 obviously, but for a German car it ain't too bad to sit in... Actually I was in an RS5 the other day and nearly had a heart attack. It had comfortable seats  and a nice big V8  You won't see me getting into an A4 ever again though...

the a5 is a sexy looking car, no other way to say it. If only it was offered in a proper brute force rear wheel drive package, quattro is good but it lacks the drama, i seen an audi promotional video for the a5 it went into every bend perfectly no smoke or nothing. Then i seen the one for the mercedes c63 amg smoke and tail happy cornering made it much better to watch

the 's' is the poverty spec one on the 407, very easy to spot.........no chrome in the bump strips, the mirrors dont fold in and they have wheeltrims ie: no alloys
