Imagine the poor bugger that owned that car. Imagine it was your 406, you've tried to look after it, then a foreign occupying force invades and runs over it with a tank showing no respect or courtesy whatsoever

Yes they were very reliable but I thought that chassis let it down badly (I was warned about it but still bought one) I used to run it about locally hence the low MPG.
Sold it to a real enthusiast, which was nice, then he stuffed it into a wall
My suspension was sorted with a set of decent shocks and springs, and engine brace, plus a decent induction kit, and the mpg was good enough for me to do regularly monthly trips to France and Belgium, was superb for these trips. And 406 Executive, a diesel in a coupe just seems weird to me, a bit like somebody looking like Arnie Schwarzenegger, but acting like Graham Norton!!

I once knew a guy who spent his national service driving Centurion tanks. He says one day he was cruising down the street in Berlin when a VW Beetle reversed in front of him. No chance of stopping however many tons of tank so he carried straight on and crushed the back half of it flat. He said he couldn't even feel it.

Ha ha ha, my new names causing confusion. But i know the arnie diesel (yes diesel is the arnold because it has the TORQUE), and the 407 coupe with a v6 diesel whats wrong with that.
toyota until recently ie the last 5 years was just a pump of drabness, although their jeeps got away with it because they had to be workhorses, it didnt mean they had to make hideously drab stuff like the carina.
I must add the current bmw 3 series (excluding m3) and 1 series what sh*t interiors they have, and they are not something your ever going to pin up on the wall.
i seen another another car, possibly the drabbest thing ive seen yet twas called a daewoo lanos, why someone would buy one of them i dont know, there is so much better cars out there than it, even a wee 205 would do the job better.
I have been driving round in one today agian
the interior is a sham, its a bit too mad and annoying to use. But it is a bit drab, the model before this wasnt so bad, at least it handled well.
