
I reckon the ST use most of there fuel rushing between the red traffic lights

The ST is mapped differently though. The Volvo has enough low down grunt to give you whiplash between 1500 and 3k, yet the ST loves to be revved? But the Focus' are good cars - I've driven my fair share of them and for driver involvement, they are much better than anything else comparable (excluding a 306)...
