Saw them a couple of years ago at the Autosprt show, and they were a right laugh.
The one thing you can't comprehend from the tv, is the fact that Ed is about 9 foot tall.
Tall geezer.

I used to love watching it, especially the "on the Road" series, but we junked Sky about 6 months ago.
MB is a 1st class pr&t, the amount of screw ups he makes is unbelieveable (Fiat 500
), but Ed is a class act. When I lived in the West Country I passed him on the M4 whilst he was driving his motorised settee down the motorway......... what an awesome sight

but one fact overlooked is eds labour charge, if you add it in a profit would never have been made.

My Dad isn't into cars and he watches wheeler dealers... Well I say isn't into cars, he enjoys driving and enjoys having a fast car but dosen't like or want to modify or work on it. He knows how cars work etc but he still hates working on cars
I enjoy it, but they don't sell most of their cars! It's abit of entertainment at the end of the day.

I don't think it's particularly the fact that they aren't taking ed's time into account
more the fact demonstrating that if you have the time, what "you" the general public can achieve if you want to partake in a little wheeler dealing
Ok, most punters ain't got a 4 poster ramp, or similar, but if you have the tools and the space, what can be achieved
As Bailes says, it's simply a bit of entertainment
It's like the son likes wrestling
Ok, we know it's scripted, but it's entertainment

Re: Watched Wheeler Dealers last night...
I would be no use at wheeler dealing. Usually pay over the odds for what I hope is a good example, the niggles do my head in, I get some of them fixed and the others grind me down, then I sell it on at a loss when other niggles start appearing.plod wrote:I don't think it's particularly the fact that they aren't taking ed's time into account

The wrestling can be pretty entertaining with a few drinks. Yes it is scripted, but so is all the rest of the nonsense on TV. Even Top Gear is scripted.
I remember the Capri they rebuilt, Ed was p*'d off that he couldn't get the colour right on the pattern wing. Thought it didn't look too bad.
Re: Watched Wheeler Dealers last night...
Yeah the Capri wings as it was too hot in the workshop so the paint was flat, one of the only cars ed fluffed a bit
Would be great having him as an uncle, you'd never have to worry about garage bills again, defo my hero
I have noticed tho with the re runs they never show the first episode with the Porsche 924, ive only ever seen that one once
My Mrs hates it, she goes off it when I put it on, even the music sets her off moaning if she's in the dining room on the computer
