Update guys: The 406 has been sold on again, the mechanic seemingly got it up on the ramps and realised I wasn't joking when I told him how bad the rust was. As far as I know its off to Belfast now, either to be mended or scrapped.

ive just seen a 406 hdi 03 plate iwas just saying to the wife thats anice colour ice blue,
the arches and sills were rusty to furk when ihad a closer look,

some of these 406s must of been made of some shite recycled twin tubs ,

the older ones seem to stay rust free compared to some of the newer ones, :?

Yeah, my dad was at the local garage getting the air-con topped up in his 405 today. There was a D9 406 on the lift so he took a walk over to have a look, it was showing the early signs of rust up in front of the fuel tank aswell

I guess the lesson with the D9 406 is: Be vigilant, even if it looks good and clean, it could be a nightmare waiting to happen underneath.

There's also the possibility of poorly repaired accident damage.

Talking of mistaken identity

2 weeks ago, we have a communial bin area, which was a complete shite hole
I spent about 90 mins cleaning it up, and some woman came up
She said "did someone call you, or were you passing, it's about time someone did something"
I said, "you think I work for the council don't you?"
She said " don't you?"
I replied, " No, I live here, and just fed up of people treating it like sh*t"

Then this week
Had to go with the boss down the tip, so he could dispose of some crap, and had my hi-viz on
Whilst there, a woman said " where do the tele's go"
I said " over there by the green container" - I knew as I had dropped a moniter off there a few mins earlier
She said " any chance you can lift it out the car for me, it's a bit heavy"
I said "you think I work for the council don't you"
"why, don't you"
"No, I don't but i'll do it for you"

Maybe, I've found my new vocation
