Did they ever run any SD1s?

Met Police stockpiled SD1s when they stopped being made. I guess a lot of forces saw the 800 as the natural successor.

I once saw PSNI using a D9. Must have been around 2000-2001ish. White with the fluorescent stripe along the doors livery (pre-Battenburg).
Never saw any more. Maybe it was a trial run demo car? They mustn't have liked it :(

But then neither would a Vectra or Mondeo diesel.

Either a normal panda / beat car, or it was a V6.

Why ?

they can do 126 mph without much effort there pretty quick on a flat run if you wind them up right,
id say they wouid do the clock on a empty motorway

Regarding Fords, I have noticed actually a lot of Focus estates.
Possibly due to cheap tax?

The hdi isnt attrociously slow, but its not the fastest diesel saloon either, doesnt the police need a bit of an edge for that, or do they just form roadblocks.
I dont know what fuel their cars run on, i heard the hateful drone of the tdi engine coming from the skodas but id say in gumtree talk that they are mapped to the bag.

you dont want an ex police or ambulance car the shite gets drove clean out of them.
I remember the police coming out to see us the time the trailer got stolen, the policewoman opened her door, and it was a mk2 mondeo, the door card was hanging off, i seen crude looking screws just holding it in place.

It's a bit of an embarassment when a news story from here goes on the national news, and they've wheeled out a mk1 1996 Vectra to showcase the PSNI at the crimescene.

I suppose they run them into the ground because they spent extra on the bulletproofing etc.

But really, could they not put the Evos and the new Octavias on the national news crime scenes?

They shipped a load of them to Englandshire for that Rual Moat thing, because they're bulletproof.

You can see one parked up at the standoff, the peelers hiding behind it.
