Thought about dumping an XUD in and running on veg oil (or, if on private land, the red)?

Ahy if it was diesel it would run on red. But petrol is livelier and lighter gas is always an option

The 4x4 place at superdrive Portadown have a couple of petrol shoguns, manual and auto, seem to do well over the terrain.

the water issue never happened with me and i went through some very wet swamps.
A snorkel sorts out the water problem very fast.
I prefer a revvy petrol as opposed to a slow diesel.

i got a su carb:

a good deal, even if the seals are knackered a new set is only about £10.
And when i get the manifold cut to suit it, a bit of household piping can make a DIY snorkel, ebay ones cost about £100+ which is too expensive.

Smart move, make sure the end of it points down or you'll be collecting rain...

pointing down, of course, the rain wont come in then.
Ive seen a few great examples of ones made of drain pipes, so thats what im going to make, its not standard but very few things on the jeep are kept standard if they break.
the door handle for example:

i cant wait to get it looking like this again, it doesnt look natural being clean, i think being clean is also making the bits of rust on it more noticeable and worse, mud is a cheaper waxoyl.

The jeep
ITS ALIVE
although it could be in better health
a few symptoms:
- no oil pressure
- oil leaking
- oil light on
- knocking sound
- clutch riding all the time, needs slackened
- gearbox has no oil in it
- flywheel cover isnt on
- its running on 2 stroke petrol
- it has no air filter
- the clock is wrong

but hey they are problems, a car in the scrapyard with its engine ripped out would be glad to have them.
Ill put the video up in a few mins.

Ok i have had 2 short runs in it, no more or it will feck up the engine for sure. What i can say is, there is some of that nice growl the old vitara used to make when it revs, and there is a lot more poke than before, even with the clutch half presseed in because its set too high there is enough power to spin the wheels in second at low revs.
I need oil in the gearbox, the sump needs to come off, i took out the oil pressure switch nothings getting there, a flush of the oil wells might be needed, a new sump is needed, and then it will be safe to run for a while.
Then the flywheel cover can go on, the radiator/sump guard put on, the su carb will go in at some point, the lights wired up, and whatever else i can think of and that wont take long.
This is just stage in the process of getting the jeep going, not finished yet, but almost.

I drained the sump, and took the rocker cover off (new gasket needed), no harm done to anything:

taking into account this area was cleaned, and new oil was put in the engine, how do you know if its getting oil up here?
